CHURCH CLEANERS AND FLOWER ARRANGERS FOR MARCH

CHURCH FLOWERS Sue Flint

CHURCH CLEANER Sue Flint

A big thank you to all those who planted bulbs in the church yard and around the village. February began with the fluttering of delicate white snowdrops only to be outshone by the stunning bright yellow aconites in the church yard and in many village gardens. March will be full of hope with the unfolding of Spring and all the many dancing daffodils. We have so much to be grateful for in nature. However we will not forget those of you who are suffering illness, anxiety, bereavement or are in hospital; you are in our thoughts and Prayers. Please do come along to any of the services,. You will be made very welcome in your village church, which is nothing without you, its people.

Mothers, we hope you have a very special day on 27th March.

JAM CLUB has been carrying on during most of lock down on Zoom and then in the village hall. Inevitably a few children have dropped out so we would like to encourage children back again as well as any new children or grandchildren in the village or its surrounds. The club is open to all 4-13 year olds,. Find out more by contacting Liz Nunn tel 590861.

WORKS: Thank you to everyone who is working on the edge of the grave yard clearing the ground and dead trees to open up the space for rewilding. We hope to create a pleasant place to sit and contemplate in a peaceful beautiful setting.

CALENDARS: Thanks for everyone who allowed us to use their photos, it made a very attractive calendar. Thank you to all those who bought one. Wee did make a modest profit which will go into the church water project. We will get water to the church one day soon.

UPCOMING NEWS: Lots of ideas are being suggested for the grand village celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee but we rely on volunteers. Please put yourself forward to help with the church, Parish Council or Village Hall events so we can make this a really good weekend on 2nd-5th June. There is a group already researching the history of the church to be displayed at that weekend. Do you want to help with this? Tel 590861..
