Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, and a crown upon their heads

The Platinum Jubilee celebrations were a great success. Around 170 came on

Thursday evening to socialise for the first time since Lockdown. We began with laser lights and David Nelson’s majestic flashing crown and drank a toast to the Queen, courtesy of the Parish Council. We were thrilled with the number who visited the church to see the beautiful flower arrangements and the exhibition showing how the village has changed during the last 70years. Even more people came to the Garden Party, around 220, to enjoy the gardens, music, stalls, games, Pimms and teas.

A big thanks to the Cannons for hosting, the Church for organising it, Bourne

Grammar School for music and all you wonderful people of Carlby who donated books, prizes and delicious cakes, not to forget the strong men of Carlby who did all the lifting and carrying. We couldn’t have done it without you and we will be looking for your support again. All profits made by the church events will go to UKRAINE and the FOOD BANK. The total money donated was tremendous, £1,035, thank you everyone for your generosity. It was so good to see so many people from the village out social-ising again, old friends catching up and introducing new people. We hope the new people feel a little more welcomed now so do give the church a go!

We hope you all have a beautiful summer and safe travel for those holidaying away. We continue to pray for all those suffering war in the world as well as those in poor health in body and mind or in economic difficulty.
