St Stephen’s Church, Carlby – Jan 2023

Happy New Year

We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas Celebrations despite problems many of you may be experiencing. Our church was beautifully decorated and the Cathedral was magically transformed by its ‘Son et Lumiere’.

Thank you to everybody who has contributed in so many ways in the running of your church, St. Stephen’s. The flower arranging, music, IT services, church yard clear ups, after church refreshments, fund raising, children’s JAM club, organising and leading services ,the Waterloo project, and more, have all been possible by the generous giving of people’s time. The outreach activities of the Church, Village Hall and Parish Council in organising the Queens Jubilee celebrations and the screening of the football World Cup are evidence of how committed we are working together for the good of our community.

We are very sad that the Rev.Jo retired from poor health this year, and are very grateful to all her hard work and guidance through those difficult times of Covid. However she is available to help and support and we are surely through the worst of the pandemic.

Please make good use of the SHARING BOX in the church porch we want to reach out to everyone in the village,. You don’t need to come to church to use it. We are now able to keep the church open all Sunday.
