St Stephen’s Church Carlby – Dec 2020

DECEMBER

CHURCH FLOWERS No flowers during Advent

Christmas Day – Mrs R Nelson

CHURCH CLEANER Mrs E. Barton

I hope you and your families are eeping safe and well in these difficult times. Our thoughts and prayers are with anyone who is ill at home or in hospital. We pray that the NHS staff will manage this second wave of the virus. We have to be very careful to try to follow the ever changing rules to beat this virus.

It was a pity that we could not have our Remembrance service on the green. I hope you saw the wreath laid by a member of the armed forces at the cross on the green.

If you are finding life challenging you may want to access some of the Zoom church services that Rev. Jo is leading. You can join this if you request an email link from her. You could be surprised how calming and reassuring the experience is to join a group of like minded people in a service.

Services in church may resume after lockdown but we will have to wait and see. Whatever happens, St. Stephen’s Church sends everyone in the village Christmas greetings, and looks forward to meeting up soon.

Please see p. 16 for proposed services for December and Christmas.

THANK YOU: While there were no Easter services this year due to lockdown, in the past St Stephen’s church has received some beautiful Easter flowers kindly donated by Tim Adams. In recording our thanks for his very generous gifts, which will be greatly missed in the future, we wish all the family good luck with their forthcoming move and happy times in new surroundings.
