CHURCH CLEANERS AND FLOWER ARRANGERS FOR APRIL

CHURCH FLOWERS 3rd and 10th LENT

17th and 24th Sue Blessett

CHURCH CLEANER Rachel Burt

Spring has Sprung and I hope you have all been fit and well to be out enjoying the good weather and the abundant yellow daffodils in Carlby.

However we will not forget those of you who are suffering illness, anxiety, bereavement or are in hospital. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please do come along to any of the services, you will be made very welcome in your village church, which is nothing without you, its people.

I am sure everyone has been horrified by the war in Ukraine, they are very much in our prayers and it is so good that people in Carlby have been so generous in various collections. Unfortunately the suffering of Ukrainians may go on for some time.

JAM CLUB: We are pleased to say attendance was up in March and we would like to encourage even more children back in MAY as well as any new children or grandchil-dren in the village or its surrounds. The club is open to all 4-13 year olds, in the Village Hall at 10.30. Find out more by contacting Liz Nunn tel 590861.

EASTER: Please check on p.16 for all the services around for you to celebrate Easter. There is something to suit everyone. The 3 churches offer a great place to find

Friendship and fun as well as serious prayer and contemplation.

FLOWERS: we would love you to come and help decorate the church on Saturday 16th April beginning at 9.30 am. Children and newcomers very welcome. No skill

Required, just enthusiasm. Then come to church on Sunday to show it to all the family.

CARLBY SERVICES

March 27th 10.30 am Holy communion at Carlby followed by APCM All welcome.

April 3rd at 8 am Holy Communion. NO JAM CLUB THIS MONTH

April 10th PALM SUNDAY at 10.30 am All Age family service

April 17th EASTER SUNDAY at 10.30 am a short All Age service, followed by Easter Egg Hunt

We will be placing a bench adjacent to the upgraded cremation area on the far side of the grave yard. We hope to create a pleasant place to sit, contemplate and remember in a peaceful beautiful setting.

UPCOMING NEWS work has begun in planning the Garden Party and historic display of Carlby in church along with sumptuous flower arrangements. There will be lots more activities contributing to the grand village celebration of the Queen’s Platinum anniversary but we rely on volunteers. Please put yourself forward to help with the church, Parish Council or village Hall events so we can make this a really good weekend on 2-5th June.
