St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, Essendine – Sept 2020

Greetings to you all from St Mary Magdalene’s Church.

I hope you are all keeping well and have enjoyed the hot summer days. On the farm we are still busy harvesting with the combine, whilst drilling the new autumn crops. It is always amazing how quickly the turnaround is. This year we will not be planting any yellow oil seed rape fields and instead blue linseed fields, oats and beans. What a beautiful colourful patchwork landscape we create.

In church on Sunday with the doors open and masks on, it was lovely to hear the Red Kites calling in the skies above the church. When Charles was cultivating the land at Tickencote, he was surrounded by 22 Red Kites quite a sight.

Our thoughts and prayers this month are with everyone starting a new term, from the first days at Nursery or Primary school, to those off to start their first adventure away from home at College or University; we wish you all every success and happiness.

To all those who are ill at home or in hospital our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

FAMILY SERVICE AT ESSENDINE: Sunday 6th September 2020 at 10.00am. This is an all age service of Morning Prayer lead by Katy and Anne. Everyone is very welcome.

HOLY COMMUNION : A service of Holy Communion will take place at St Mary’s Church on Sunday 13th & 27th September 2020 at 9.00am. Every- one is very welcome to attend.

Special thanks go to Rev Jo, as she completes her first year as Priest in Charge of our Benefice. No one could have predicted what a year it would have turned out to be. We are all very grateful for all your efforts and support during this past year.
