St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, Essendine – Oct 2022

Our great sympathy to you all from St Mary Magdalene’s Church following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll.

I hope you are all well and enjoyed the rain of September. Let us hope for some good weather in October. I hope you have all enjoyed picking the blackberries from the hedges around the farm, they have been surprisingly plump considering the lack of rain.

On the farm, the combine has finished the harvest and returned safely back in the barn. What a hot harvest; on several days we had to stop as it was too dangerous. we are busy planting next year’s crops.

The sunflower plots have burst into flower and are quite a sight to see. The bees are certainly enjoying them and hopefully the birds will enjoy the seeds later.

Our thoughts and prayers this month are with our new King Charles lll and all the members of the Royal Family during this national time of mourning for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth ll.

To all those who are ill at home or in hospital, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

OPEN DAY/GIFT DAY :Thank you for all your generous donations, this is a great help to cover the running costs of the church. It was lovely to welcome many visitors to our lovely church who enjoyed reading about the history of our church and village.
