Greetings to you all from St Mary Magdalene’s Church.
I hope you are all well and have had a lovely warm, sunny September. Let’s hope for some good weather in October. It is a bumper year for apples and blackberries,. We are looking forward to a delicious wild blackberry mousse at luncheon club this month.
On the farm the combine has finally finished the harvest and is safely back in the barn, although the Linseed looked beautiful,. That turned out to be the only good thing about it; I don’t think we will be growing it again. We are busy planting next year’s crops.
Our thoughts and prayers this month are for all our new neighbours in the village. A warm welcome awaits you at our little church.
To all those who are ill at home or in hospital our thoughts and prayers are with you.
OPEN DAY: It was lovely to welcome to our lovely church visitors who enjoyed reading about the history of our church and village, especially the railway stations. We have some great pictures.
RUTLAND RIDE AND STRIDE: We welcomed 15 cyclists, who enjoyed the autumn sunshine to visit churches in Rutland and raise money for their own churches and the Rutland Historic Churches Preservation Trust. Thank you to our volunteers who kindly manned the Church door and provided the refreshments.
HARVEST FESTIVAL FAMILY SERVICE: Sunday 6th October at 3.00pm at St Mary’s Church, Essendine. Any produce donated will be used at the next Essendine Luncheon club. Refreshments will be served after the service. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
HOLY COMMUNION: A service of Holy Communion will take place at St Mary’s Church on Sundays 10th & 24th October at 9.00am. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
