St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, Essendine – May 2022

Greetings from St Mary Magdalene’s Church, Essendine.

I hope you are all well and enjoying some better weather. It has been a very welcome sight to see the sheep and lambs back in the church field. The birds are enjoying the bird feeder in the garden; the sunflower hearts are a real favourite. The owls are noisy in the barns at night but we are still waiting for the swallows to arrive. The blue bells are beginning to turn the floor of the woods blue, it is a lovely sight.

Gardeners beware; The days between 19-21 May, known as Frankinmas, are notorious for a late frost.

This month we are especially praying for all the students about to take exams. It is a very challenging time for you all (and your families.)

Please remember St Mary’s Church is open daily if you would like to have a quiet time. You are always very welcome at any of our services. We wish you every success in your exams. Good Luck!

We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine and all the agencies supporting them around the world.
To all those who are ill at home or in hospital our thoughts and prayers are with you.
