St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, Essendine – July 2021

Greetings to you all from St Mary Magdalene’s Church

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the Summer holidays. On the farm we are busy getting ready for harvest. Have you spotted the beautiful blue fields of linseed? I am looking forward to seeing the fields of oats ripen.

In the garden the magpies are chasing the squirrels and the jackdaws are putting sticks down the chimney. Finally, we had a swarm of bees down the chimney, on one of the hottest days of June. The fire was blazing and Richard and I were melting. Thankfully the bees moved on.

After our June Family Service, we enjoyed refreshments after the service outside in the churchyard. It was so lovely to sit in the sunshine and chat (at a distance). I am looking forward to the notice that we can stop wearing masks in church and sing the hymns together. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.

To all those who are ill at home or in hospital our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

FAMILY SERVICE: Sunday 4th July at 10.00am. This is an all age service of Morning Prayer lead by Katy and Anne. Everyone is very welcome to attend this service. Refreshments will be served after the service.

HOLY COMMUNION: A service of Holy Communion will take place at St Mary’s Church on 11th & 25th July at 9.00am. Everyone is very welcome to this service.
