St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, Essendine – Jan 2023

A Happy New Year to you all and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported and visited St Mary Magdalene’s Church during 2022. I hope you are all keeping well and managed to enjoy a wonderful Christmas.

To our friends from Ukraine, we send special seasonal greetings.

A special thanks goes to all the people who work hard behind the scenes to support our Village Church. Revd Jo Saunders retired in August, but has kindly agreed to take some services for us, until a new priest is appointed. We are very grateful to the visiting priests who also take services for us.

We celebrated a Wedding Blessing in August, a joyous occasion for the happy couple. The church walls have been repointed and the next project is repairs to the churchyard path.

Please keep warm and be careful in this cold weather and look out for your friends and neighbours.

To all those who are ill at home or in hospital our thoughts and prayers are with you.

FAMILY SERVICE– Sunday 1st January at 10.00am. This is an all-age service of Morning Prayer led by Katy and Anne. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
HOLY COMMUNION – A service of Holy Communion will take place at St Mary’s Church on Sundays 8th and 22nd January at 9.00am. Everyone is very welcome to attend.

The church is open daily, you are welcome to call in and look around our beautiful church.

On Twelfth Night it is traditional to take down the Christmas Decorations, except for the nativity scene which stays until Candlemas (2nd February).
