St. John’s Ryhall Restoration & Renewal Plan update – Dec 2020

Thank you to all those who have supported fundraising activities or sent donations to save our church. If you would still like to, please go to our GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/manage/church-restoration-campaign or send a donation to Rev Jo Saunders revjosaunders@live.co.uk. We are very grateful for your support.

November started with the lottery draw. Congratulations to Sharon Stokes on buying the winning ticket for the beautiful, painting, kindly donated by Irish artist, Kathrine Geoghegan.

We are very grateful to Debbie Rolfe for organising a Coffee & Cake morning fundraiser at The Green Dragon, helped by Michelle Nebel. Thanks to everyone who came along and raised £175 for the roof appeal.

Betty Edwards has already raised over £1,000 with her ‘Capt. Tom’ style fundraiser walk for St. John’s Church roof! Her huge effort has been recognised by recent interviews with the Persani Podcast and The Stamford Mercury (links are on the church Facebook page). If you’d like to support Betty’s efforts, donations can be made via her GoFundMe page at https://gf.me/u/y5g5qn. Thanks Betty and also to your granddaughter Jordane who helped you set up your page.

Thanks to all the ‘Churchyard Champion’ volunteers who spent a morning clearing up and tending to the churchyard. The group was set up to enhance the site for the use of the wider community as a beautiful, peaceful spot to stay awhile and enjoy. The group’s work involves just a couple of hours a month for each volunteer. You can get to know your neighbours better and the churchyard will remain cared for, providing a community resource. If you’re interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you. Contact Rev Jo Saunders.

If you have any good fund-raising ideas, please share them, or even better get involved! Keep up to date with all our news on the St. John’s Church Ryhall Facebook page.
