St. John’s Restoration & Renewal Campaign – July 2022

We are delighted and very grateful that the work has started to replace the church roof! The new roof will make the building a much drier, warmer and more welcoming place to be. Please take care if you are using the churchyard during the works which should last 12-13 weeks. The funds raised for the estimated cost of the roof still have a shortfall. If you feel you could donate to help fill this gap, it would be greatly appreci-ated. Contact Rev Jo at revjosaunders@live.co.uk or donate to the Churches Go-FundMe page https://gofund.me/c2412dff which is also pinned to the top of the re-named ‘Ryhall, Essendine and Carlby Churches’ Facebook page.

A big thanks to Simon Chapman for his sponsored cycle on 17th and 18th June to help raise funds to replace the church roof. At the time of writing, just before the daut-ing journey, he had raised almost £800! He hopes to cycle almost 200 miles in two days from Preston in Lancashire, through the Lake District and to finish at Moffat in Scotland. There’s still time to sponsor him in this great effort, if you’d like to. Please donate via the GoFundMe page, details above.

The Village Fete will be happening 1-5pm on 16th July, in the beautiful grounds of Ryhall Hall, thanks to the generosity of Janine and Nick. The fete will have great en-tertainment, delicious refreshments, games, a raffle, vintage cars, food & drink, and a wonderful variety of stalls including favourites such as Cakes, Books, Bric-a-Brac, and Plants & Pots. Some new activities will also be on offer! Please mark it in your diary and come along to enjoy a fabulous day out with your family and friends. Proceeds will be going to support St. John’s Church and good causes in the village. If you have bric-a-brac, books, plants & pots or cakes you could contribute, Sandra would love to hear from you at 07554-740370/thesandrachapman@gmail.com. Thanks.
