Extract from the draft Minutes of the Meeting held on January 18th 2021

CO-OPTION: Mr Phillip Davis was co-opted and welcomed onto Ryhall Parish Council

PARISH SURVEY:The full details of the Parish Survey outcomes were published in the Village News last month and can be found on the website under ‘Four Year Plan’

PRECEPT DECISION : A Precept options paper had been circulated in advance. Against the background of not increasing the precept funding for seven years until 2019,and balancing of the budget to a small surplus next year,Cllr Gombault proposed an increase in the precept to fund the two projects sanctioned by the survey . It was proposed by Cllr Gombault to increase the precept at the same percentage as last year an increase of 6.2% (2,000) . This would equate to a £3.70 per annum per household for a Band D property. A counter proposal by Cllr Nebel to increase the precept by £3,000 was not seconded. The first proposal was se-conded by Cllr Wilby and at the vote, all in favour. Therefore the Parish Council will request a precept of £34,494 for 2021/22.

CEMETERY: Cllr Nebel offered to lead on the cemetery extension project and was thanked by the Chairman. Consultation with residents will be the first step and this will be considered at the February meeting.

NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be the Annual Parish Meeting to be held on Monday 22nd March at 7pm via the zoom platform. All parishioners welcome to attend. This will be followed by an ordinary meeting of the Parish Council – there will be public time at the start of the meeting. This will also be a virtual meeting due to Covid 19 restrictions.
