The Parish Council hosted a lovely evening on Thursday 2nd June to kick start the Jubilee celebrations with a relaxed picnic on the Meadows Playing Fields, free hotdogs, burgers and drinks were received by all who wanted them to top up their picnics. The evening ending with a good rendition of the national anthem and waving of lights.

The Parish Council would like to compile a book of Jubilee Memories to go in the Ryhall Library for all to see. If anyone would like their jubilee event including in the book please send photos to

In this jubilee year I was delighted to see such a wonderful turn-out of the Ryhall and Belmesthorpe community at the meadows playing fields for an impromptu gathering, picnic and a well earned break from the difficulties we have faced over recent years! As always children enjoyed themselves and with the added bonus of free burgers and soft drinks, what could be better. On that note I would like to thank Debbie Rolfe, Sarah and Jo Gresty for all their work in making it a great success.

Moving forward now as a community we have the upcoming challenge of the Mallard Pass solar farm campaign to focus our attention. You will have received a letter from Alicia Kearns MP, who has carefully listed her concerns of what impact this development will have on our community. The points Alicia has made are worryingly clear! Please take this opportunity as a resident of Ryhall and Belmesthorpe to challenge the proposed development.

Take care

D Amies Chairman
