RYHALL MEADOWS PLAYING FIELDS: It is with regret we announce the retirement of two valued members of the Playing Fields Committee, David Wilby and Valerie Lofthouse . The Playing Fields are an integral part of the village and a vital amenity used by all generations. Over the years David and Val, as main contributors to the Committee, have worked tirelessly for the benefit of the parish David has retired as Interim Chairman a post he has held for six years.

David Amies thanked him for his tremendous hard work over the years – the parish council were greatly appreciative of his leadership of the committee. His decision to step down leaves a vital role to be filled. This voluntary does not necessarily need to be allocated to a Councillor. It was agreed to seek to fill the role with a publicity appeal in the hope that a resident would be willing to step up and help. David Amies as Chairman agreed to oversee the day to day running temporarily but will not be able to continue this due to his workload. Val has been a very long serving highly regarded committee member for thir-ty one years. On behalf of the residents, the Parish Council thank Val for this dedication to the committee. We are enormously appreciative of her outstanding years of service.

This of course creates a vacancies on the Committee . We urgently need new members with enthusiasm and new ideas. There is one AGM a year and committee meetings when needed. You would be actively supported by the parish council and Caroline, the Parish Clerk, who will be doing all the administration. Please contact us!

The Under Five multi play area installation will soon commence – weather permitting . This has been funded via a grant from National Grid. The RMPF Committee will also be installing picket fencing to delineate the area and hope to install a new four seater see saw next within the boundaries of the Under Five area.

In the future on the Playing Fields we would like to plant trees, designate a wildflower area and buy picnic benches. So we need a committee to bring this to fruition !

The Parish Council agreed at the recent meeting on 19th October 2020 to install post and rail fencing to delineate the main play park area. This will have a pedestrian access and a field gate by the hedge for the farmer’s access to the Meadows.

The Parish Council has produced an Vehicle Movement and Parking Directive. This seeks to accommodate all users of the playing fields and residents of Parkfield Road. This Directive will be circulated to all users via the clubs and will be available on our website.

FOUR YEAR PLAN CONSULTATION 2020 – 2024: The results of the village consultation will be available on our website as soon as the analysis has been completed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond.
