News From The Village Of Essendine – June 2022

A separate flyer with the details of our village celebration on Friday 3rd June at the village hall, will have been delivered through your letterbox.

A special commemorative tree planting with a time capsule buried beneath it will take place during the celebration.

We are delighted to have three new younger residents of the village join the village hall committee. A warm welcome to Karin Delve, Lizzy Rowlands and Laura Jones. I am sure they will bring some fresh ideas and new activities to the village hall!

WILDFLOWER AREA: this is being developed near the flagpole in the hall grounds, as we do have some difficulty mowing around that area. If you have any spare wildflower seeds or plants, do feel free to scatter them in that area. Cowslips, primroses and bluebells are already in place!

For the past two years we have encouraged residents to grow sunflowers to brighten up gardens and the village hall grounds. This year, with the terrible situation in the Ukraine, where the the Sunflower is the national emblem, it would be lovely to see a wonderful display of them around the village to show our support for all Ukrainians. I do have some sunflower seeds available if you contact me. ( or 01780 751711).
