News from the Village of Carlby – Oct 2022

CARLBY KOFUKAN KARATE-DO ASSOCIATION The Carlby Kofukan Karate Club practices an old traditional form of karate in the style of Shito-Ryu. We practice Kata and fighting techniques for gradings and competitions under the instruction of Nigel Parsons 5th Dan blackbelt. CARLBY AND DISTRICT WI invite you to our next meeting on 11th October in Carlby village Hall at 7.30pm. Come along to hear Sophie Cawdron tell us the story of her ‘Life as a Film Extra’. This is an open meeting and anyone is welcome. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month, usually in Carlby Village Hall.

CARLBY WALKERS: Our monthly walks take place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month and all villagers and their friends are welcome to come along for a walk of between 3 and 5 miles. CARLBY PARISH COUNCIL 

After many reports of an increase in dog fouling around the village the Parish Council ran a ‘design a poster’ competition through the school holidays to promote bagging and binning dog waste in Carlby. Check out the notice board for winning entries. We urge all dog owners to act responsibly to keep our village a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. 

Date of future Parish Council meetings at 19:30 in the Village Hall are: 

2022: 15 November (budget setting meeting) 

2023: 17 Jan, 21 Mar. 17 May, 18 Jul, Wed 13 September, 21 Nov. 

All residents of Carlby are welcome to the meetings. We encourage you to attend to keep in touch.

residents to write their messages of condolence/ remem-brance between 11 Sept – 16th October.
