An ideas sharing session was held in the village hall to discuss how Carlby could celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2nd – 5th June 2022.

Some ideas currently being investigated include a community event on the evening of Thursday 2nd June to start off the celebrations and to coincide with the Beacon lighting throughout the UK. This could be followed over the 4 days by a themed pub quiz night, an afternoon garden party, a photo exhibition, a dog show/event, commemorative tree planting, a special Church service and a ‘Big Lunch’ picnic on the Village Green with celebratory fizz.

If anyone has any other ideas for the weekend or are available to get involved and help with any of the above ideas, please let the Parish Clerk know either by dropping a note into the Parish Council letter box at the side of the village hall or e mailing ….
