CARLBY BOWLS CLUB: October was a busy month for the Bowls Club with Wednesday evening bowls and the club presentation dinner in the village hall plus the AGM in the Club pavilion. The Club Committee was re-elected little changed except with Iris Clarke retiring as Corgis Team Captain after many years in the role and with Ian Cooke taking over that role. Looking ahead the Club will hold a fun games evening in the village hall on Wednesday 15th December 2021 with games such as short mat bowls, putting, darts, skittles and other table games. The event will start at 7.30p.m. for Members and ANY ADULT CARLBY RESIDENTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART IN THE EVENT WOULD BE VERY WELCOME.
VILLAGE HALL HIRE: The hall is now available for hirings, subject to government Covid restrictions. If you would like to book the hall please email carlbyvil-lagehall@hotmail.co.uk with your name, address (special rates for Carlby villagers) and details of when you would like the hall.
CARLBY AND DISTRICT WI: The next meeting for Carlby and District WI will be on Tuesday 14th December at 7.00pm in Carlby Village Hall. The next Parish Council meetings are scheduled for Tuesday 23rd November 2021 at 19:30 in the village hall. At this meeting we will be receiving the budget for 2022/23 and calculating the precept. At all Parish Council meetings, there is an open public forum.
The January 2022 meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 18th, same time and venue.

CHRISTMAS DECORATING
Do please come along and help decorate the church for the Christmas services on Saturday 18th December from 9.30am. Help from youngsters with decorating the Christmas tree from 10.30am would be very welcome too. , Hot drinks and seasonal refreshments available all morning, so do join us and get in the festive spirit.
ALTAR FLOWERS
Very many thanks to everyone who has provided flowers for the church during the year. There have been some very attractive seasonal arrangements. Next year’s rota will be produced shortly and it would be lovely to have a few more contributors to ensure there are always fresh flowers in the church. If you are interested in helping by providing flowers for a fortnight in the year, perhaps to mark a special anniversary or other occasion, please contact Sue Flint on 01778 590864.
