News from the Village of Carlby – Aug 2022

CARLBY KOFUKAN KARATE-DO ASSOCIATION The Carlby Kofukan Karate Club practices an old traditional form of karate in the style of Shito-Ryu. We practice Kata and fighting techniques for gradings and competi-tions under the instruction of Nigel Parsons 5th Dan blackbelt. We hold a mixed session of children and adults every Monday at Carlby Village Hall Monday 6-30pm to 8-30pm. Please contact:- Nigel on 07802223388 or 

VILLAGE HALL HIRE:The hall is available for hirings, if you would like to book the village hall please email: with your name, address (special rates for Carlby villagers) and details of when you would like the hall. 

CARLBY AND DISTRICT WI next meeting is on Tuesday 9th August in Carlby Village Hall at 7.30pm. 

The speaker will be Alan Howitt JP from Magistrates in the Community who will be telling us about the judicial system, the work of the Magistrates and the history of the Magistracy.

CARLBY WALKERS Our monthly walks take place on the 2nd Wednes-day of the month and all villagers and their friends are welcome to come along for a walk of between 3 and 5 miles. These walks are relaxed and friendly led by volunteers and information of the route is sent out to regular walkers or can be obtained by contacting Dave Richardson a week prior to the walk on 07817 776341 or email 

CARLBY PARISH COUNCIL The PC has had to purchase additional dog poo reminder signs and 3 new replacement litter bins at great cost as your District Council will not financially support having clean and litter free Villages. 

Please ensure you take heed of the signs and use the bins, especially in the Playing Field and surrounding footpaths. It is unacceptable not to pick up!
