During lockdown and the months following, the group of local knitters led by Dorothy Dolby of Belmesthorpe, have kept themselves busy making various items of clothing for the charity, Knit For Peace.
At the end of August another delivery was made to the Headquarters in London and the car was full to the brim! The charity was delighted with the donation and amazed at the quantity. Mrs Dolby usually sends two deliveries each year, this being the fourth year, but due to Coronavirus it had not been possible to make a delivery in March.
The goods included blankets, children’s clothes, hats, gloves, scarves and twiddlemuffs which will be distributed to various people in need such as refu- gees, the homeless and those in hospitals, care homes and hospices.
Once again Mrs Dolby would like to express her sincere thanks to all those who generously give their time to this worthwhile cause.
