Accepted resignation of Cllr. Isobel Robson due to her house move out of the Parish. A vacancy notice has been issued.
Cllr Bob Adams gave a report on SKDC matters:
- Budget proposals under discussion. Meeting deficit from reserves.
- Loss of income from arts, carparks and leisure to be absorbed by SKDC reserves
- Local business grants in the region of 30million have been provided
- Unitary authority negotiations continuing – will be a lengthy process.
- Government gearing up for Elections this May for Police
- Commissioning, County & District & Parishes. With the pressure of Covid-19 social distance restrictions, this may prove unworkable.
- County highways – Major problems this winter with flooding and frost, causing severe deterioration of road surfaces.
Response: JB asked if council tax increases were known. D istrict was set at £5 increase for band D, County Council 1.99% increase, Police – not yet known
- Concerns over response from SKDC about verge on footpath, inac-cessible for a resident with a mobility scooter
- Need to clean gullies in High St. between Manor Rd and
- The Avenue as water continually collecting a danger to road users.
Budget and Precept Request 2021/22. Proposed not to increase precept for 2021/22 – to remain at £8469 as per 2020/21.
Proposed to pay retrospective grant to Playing Field trustees of a maximum under s.137 of £2194.EDa of the Morton mobile post office visiting the village. Clerk to keep CPC informed
